Inner City Ministries

Dr. Thomas Atchison
Exceutive Director, Inner City Ministries
Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ! It is a true blessing and labor of love to be a part of the Pentecostal Church of God allowing me to work with some of the greatest people anywhere.
As Inner Cities Ministry Director, I greatly appreciate the varied ministries represented through our board members and God's wisdom we seek in both spiritual and administrative church matters. It is a blessing to see new works growing and winning souls for the Kingdom and am excited about the great works begun through the Pentecostal Church God around our great nation! Here are just a few of those works:
New Beginnings of Tampa, Inc.
This is a faith based, 6 month residential program for individuals attempting to recover from the devastation of alcohol and drug addictions. People are searching for a way out of their destructive behavior and seek refuge at NBT with a desire to make positive changes in their lives. New Beginnings accepts at-risk veterans, displaced youths who have aged out of the foster care system, hospital and judicial referrals, the homeless, unemployed and disabled individuals, and the list goes on. These individuals are ready for a positive change in their lives that New Beginnings provides!
New Beginnings Emergency Shelter
This is our mission, daily feeding 50-100 people from our community that are in need or homeless. There is temporary housing for 30 men and 10 women. New Beginnings Outreach feeds the homeless every Saturday in downtown Tampa and regularly recruits new clients for our life recovery program! Once a month, during the feeding legal advice and health care is provided for the homeless. The Florida District Has just recently made our Mission a chartered church.
It has been a pleasure to work with and help facilitate a satellite New Beginnings Program in Daytona Beach area with Brother John Walls. He presently has 15 residents and looks forward to expanding. We have found a new facility that will accommodate this growing need. Brother Walls can be contacted at 386.795.1740.
Gatehouse Outreach Mission
This ministry is located in the Columbus, GA area. They have completed required permitting and are fully operational. They now have twenty beds for men and soon will be opening a transitional house and woman’s center. They are in the process of raising funds to build six cabins on Georgia’s PCG Camp Ground for these purposes. Paul Meacham can be reached at 334-740-3735 and their website can be viewed at www.gatehouse.citygatephenix.org
